Closing Celebration

Every morning, we gather together to kick off our Athens day with a blast! During this time, kids get to know their Oikos leaders and meet new friends. They sing songs and learn Bible points and verses for the day. They also get to meet VBS Buddies of the day. Kids are bound to have a blast learning new songs and the motions to go with them!

At the end of the VBS day, everyone regroups to sing songs and recount what they have learned and done throughout the day. They also review the Bible points and verses and listen to announcements in preparation for the next VBS Day.

Step back in time and follow us on a journey with Paul. Day 1, Paul began his second missionary journey and rallies the kids to the call, “God loves us all.” Day 2, Kids learn that God loves us and takes care of us just as he did for Paul and Silas. Day 3, Kids will worry with Paul and Silas but will be encouraged with the fact that God loves us when others don’t. Day 4, Paul proclaims the good news about Jesus to the people in Athens and kids learn that God loves us so much that He sent His Son. Day 5, Paul continues on to tell more people about Jesus encouraging kids to share God’s love with everyone.

Each kid will be assigned to an Oikos (Greek word for family) which will serve as their home base throughout the week. They will stay with the group throughout the day as they move from one activity to another. They will make new friends as they learn the Bible points and stories.

Each day, kids visit a store in the Greek marketplace to see and try new things. They get to see and touch things, perform cool experiments, and engage in projects that are related to the VBS story and lesson of the day. The kids also make arts and crafts that are related to the theme of the day, which they can then bring home to show to their family.

The kids will play super-fun games each day as they train for the Olympics. By engaging in different Bible-time games and activities, kids are sure to have tons of fun and laughter. These high-energy ancient games will help kids discover more about life in ancient Athens and bring to life the Bible points and lessons of the day.

Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God.
